hello

I’m a writer based in the Pacific Northwest. I love to craft narratives using crisp, gentle language, and to explore issues around water, climate change, and the environment through stories. I also do occasional editing work.

My work has been published by Nature, The Counter, The NationHarper’sThe Atlantic, and others. I’ve reported from Jordan, where I lived for two years, as well as from the West Bank, Israel, Maine, South Carolina, New York, and Arizona, where I lived for a year and a half and was a staff writer for Phoenix New Times.

In 2020, several pieces I wrote about the heat-related death of an Arizona woman after her electricity was shut off on a 107-degree day received an honorable mention for explanatory reporting from the Society of Environmental Journalists and the statewide public service journalism award from the Arizona Press Club. The Press Club has also recognized my work for environmental reporting, social issues reporting, and human interest writing.
